Play Therapy Manifesto

I. Learn to enjoy playing from start to finish, whatever the child is doing. Learn to enjoy playing alone, that way when you play together it will come from a genuine place. If you are miserable, or waiting for them, you can’t really play. You can pretend to, which will work for some children, but then I don’t know what you’re teaching them. Fake play. AuJa! play. Real play contains the undecided eros of one or more people in the space. The first step is to find your own pleasure, in nothing happening, while being ignored. What do you need to get to that state? This is the urgent question.
